Research Interests

Community development, community economies, social innovation, action research, theories of the body & affect studies.

In a previous project (concluded in 2017) I have combined action research with theories of the body in order to document the affective dynamics during the stages of an appreciative inquiry community development process. A paper coming out of that project, tentatively titled A quiet resistance: Karen women entrepreneurs lead saving groups in Kanchanaburi province, Thailand, is currently under review.

In a current project funded by Thammasat University’s Young Researchers’ Fund I attempt to construct a comparative framework for diverse social innovation processes. Although these approaches are all encompassed by the term social innovation they are often guided by distinct philosophies. In my project I attempt to make these different framings explicit.
